As a father, local businessman, and community leader, David Haubert has a deep sense of pride and respect for the town he calls home.

David first discovered his passion for public service nearly 20 years ago, when he decided to take a more proactive approach in his daughters’ education by volunteering for her school’s Site Council, where he served as Chairman for two years. In 2002 he won a seat on the Dublin Unified School District Board of Trustees. As the former President and a member of the Board for ten years, David was able to improve district-wide test scores, while maintaining a balanced budget, avoiding teacher layoffs, and upgrading classroom technology and infrastructure.

In 2012, David was elected to the Dublin City Council, receiving the top number of votes in a crowded field of six candidates. While on the Council, David has pioneered efforts to reduce residential density, invest in the city’s aging parks, and attract new businesses to the region. David has quickly become known as an innovative thinker, effective communicator, and a fierce advocate of fiscal responsibility.

An independent businessman, David has led sales and marketing teams at national manufacturers and grocery retailers throughout the United States working for multi-national companies such a Nestle, Pepsi-Co, IBM and Safeway. David is recognized as an industry leader and currently advises CEO’s to help them grow and expand their sales and profits.

No stranger to burning the candle at both ends, David has possessed a strong work ethic since childhood. After earning his Eagle Scout award in high school, David worked his way through college while attending Cal State Northridge. He graduated in 1991 with a B.A. in Business Finance and proceeded to earn his MBA from UCLA in 1997.

Recognized for his leadership skills and ability to implement forward-thinking solutions, David has been appointed to a number of community boards, including the Alameda County Mayor’s Association, League of California Cities, Alameda County Transportation Commission (ACTC), Livermore Amador Valley Transportation Authority (LAVTA), Alameda County Local Area Formation Commission (LAFCO), Anka Behavioral Health Inc.
